We’re pleased to announce that the programme for the 2025 Sudan Studies (Summer Series) Research Conference is now live. This year’s event - fully online - brings together a broad range of speakers and topics exploring Sudan’s past and present, with contributions from researchers at all career stages and across disciplines.
The Summer Series is here to help researchers stay connected, share work-in-progress and keep conversations going during what we know is a challenging time.
We recognise the ongoing war in Sudan and the deep impact it continues to have on individuals, communities and academic life. Many of our colleagues in the region are working in extremely difficult conditions and we want to acknowledge both the human and professional challenges this brings.
To help lower barriers to participation, we still have a limited number of free tickets for researchers currently based in Sudan and South Sudan.
We hope this offers some small support to those who wish to remain engaged in the wider research community during this time.
