About Munich

June 2022
Discover Munich!

Munich is a university city with something for everyone: from lakes, parks and beer gardens to museums, historical sites and of course our very own 6th Sudan Studies Research Conference! However there are a few COVID-19 restrictions which are still in place when our conference is on, so do not forget to pack your FFP2 mask as you will need it especially when travelling on public transport. To keep up to date on all the latest rules and regulations visit:

PUBLIC TRANSPORT:

MVGO The Munich Transport Company's (MVG) new free sharing app for MVG bikes, e-bikes, e-scooters and e-mopeds you can switch from public transport to any of these individual green mobility options in a cashless uncomplicated way.

CONFERENCE VENUE ADDRESS:

Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München

Ägyptologie und Koptologie

Katharina-von-Bora-Str. 10

D-80333 München

2nd floor, room 242

NB: as regular attendees will know, all of our previous conferences have been fully catered. However LMU will not be providing any refreshment this year. So do pack your lunch and a flask or bottled drink for the coffee breaks as we understand that the nearest shops are quite a walk away from the venue. The first coffee break and the lunch break have been made longer in case you are unable to purchase your own refreshments in advance. More details will be provided by the on-site LMU Team on the day.
